Team Shepherds was anxious to get back on the ballfield to chase those college scholarship dollars. Our girls were ready to play, with a 6-0 win, another 8-2 win, and a 3-4 loss; we came out of COVID lockdown fired up! Let’s see what we can do next week…
Using small group and socially distant practice to stay ready
Braynka gave the Shepherds a much needed boost in 2018 and 2019 when she dominated the circle and helped to move our program from obscurity to being the “talk of the fastpitch circuit”. She received a full-ride scholarship to play softball for the Fayetteville State University Broncos, where as a Freshman had an exceptional start to her career at FSU.
If STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) careers are all top 10 of the highest paid careers, and underrepresented groups are behind in obtaining STEM related career training; how will we ever reach economic equality?
Team Shepherds has been working to spread the word about STEM educational and scholarship opportunities that exist for people of color, and we want to expand our reach to more and younger minority boys and girls, but we need your help.
ENGAGING our youth early, in hands-on STEM EXPERIENCES at real corporations, EMPOWERED by professionals who look like them. Then connect them to STEM EDUCATION opportunities and scholarships, in pursuit of true ECONOMIC EQUALITY!
